Welcome to Huron at Western University – Canada’s most elite yet accessible Liberal Arts University.
As an international student, you may be wondering what we mean by elite yet accessible. For us, elite refers to the exceptional level of living and learning experiences we deliver here. The quality of education provided here empowers us to develop globally-minded Leaders with Heart who ascend to the highest levels of the organizations they choose to work within. From top-ranked CEO’s to the world’s most generous philanthropists, Huron graduates people who are currently influencing their local and global communities in extremely positive and profound ways.
The other half of our commitment to being elite yet accessible involves our belief that every student, who demonstrates a remarkable commitment to academic excellence and community involvement, deserves to be here – and have their individual gifts nurtured. If you’re the type of young leader, who wants to show up and show off the unique ways you want to impact the world, that includes you.
We know you’ll be travelling to Huron from far away, and that may seem overwhelming, but trust us – this is going to be your new home away from home. We have a great deal of supports and resources available to ensure you make new friends, take part in exciting new experiences and succeed every step of the way.
Don’t get lost in the crowd, come to Huron where your achievements will be celebrated in ways that make you – and your family – proud.
How to make the most out of your time at Huron!

Important Information for Parents
Huron at Western University's small campus gives us the opportunity to get to know your student in order to help them achieve their academic and post-graduation plans. Not only do we welcome students from over 29 countries, but we also encourage students to consider international experiences to enhance their education.
Huron students can go abroad to study, volunteer, or work both through our programs or initiatives they seek out on their own. Parental support is an important part of a students' decision to go abroad and we hope to address any questions and concerns you may have as the parent of an international student or a student considering going abroad.
