Transforming Undergraduate Learning Through Research
Huron is dedicated to facilitating exceptional research experiences: we want every student to have the opportunity to critically investigate their interests through immersive and experiential learning. The Centre for Undergraduate Research Learning (CURL) offers a range of student-centred programs in support of this goal.
Strategic Objectives
The Centre for Undergraduate Research Learning aims to transform undergraduate learning through opportunities that support students in research, academia, and their future careers.
We have four fundamental strategic directions:
- Enhance student learning with highly engaging, immersive research experiences.
- Enhance existing faculty research strengths by facilitating engagement and collaboration with students.
- Enhance faculty teaching by fostering mentorship and sharing of student research learning practices.
- Facilitate research partnerships with Huron’s external community.
Annually, CURL awards 8 Student Research Fellowships and 8 Travel Bursaries. Student Research Fellowships occur during the Fall/Winter term from October to April and during the Summer Term from May to August.
